In a bid to boost human resource morale, the Government has announced a series of initiatives to boost employment in the workplace.
The Government has said it will be introducing a human resources workforce model and that it will create a new HR role to promote career development and support career advancement for employees.
In addition, the Minister for Human Resources and Skills will be establishing a new human resource department.
The HR department will be chaired by the Minister of Human Resources, Skills and Employment.
This department will focus on providing guidance and support to organisations, including training and support, for HR practitioners.
The Minister will also set up an inter-agency working group on HR, to review the role of the HR professional, including how the HR profession has progressed and how it can be improved.
The new HR professional will have the ability to advise on the development of HR programs and policies and how the role can be extended to other areas of the organisation.
The Government has also announced a number of measures to promote HR, including the establishment of an HR role for public servants to help them understand how to best use their skills and knowledge, the creation of an internal HR department, and an HR department to assist HR practitioners with their responsibilities and responsibilities.
In response to the HR role, the minister has announced that an HR professional is currently in the process of creating an HR skills and qualifications course for employees, in consultation with the National HR Training Board, which will be jointly run by the HR department and the Government’s Human Resources Services.
As part of the course, students will also be asked to demonstrate their understanding of the roles of HR professionals and the HR system, as well as the roles and responsibilities of other roles within the organisation, including senior managers.
This new HR department is expected to be a first step in the Government moving away from the traditional HR professional model, which the minister said would be phased out by 2021.
However, the new HR profession will not be an overnight solution to HR problems.
It will take time for the HR departments to work together to identify the best model for HR professionals to work in, according to the Minister.
“The Minister has identified a number the HR professionals, but he has also said that the HR model is going to need to be changed in the next five to 10 years,” said Michael Fitzgerald, Director of Strategy at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
He added that the government will also need to make sure that the new role and HR department are not only able to provide training to HR practitioners but also are able to support HR practitioners to develop their own skills and experience.
“There will be a lot of challenges in the HR sector in the short- and medium-term,” he said.
Currently, only one HR professional exists in the United Kingdom.
But, according the Minister, he believes that the sector is in a better position than it was in the past.
“The HR profession is very well-established.
I think that we have a strong set of skills.
I don’t think it’s a matter of if there will be another HR professional but when we will have a professional in that role,” he told RTÉ News at One.
Speaking at the opening of the new human resources department, the Labour Minister, Owen Paterson, said the Government was “working to create a more skilled, more connected workforce”.
He said that it would be “a priority for us to create the right conditions for the next generation of workers, so that we are not a generation of unemployed”.
“If you are unemployed and you don’t have a job, then you will be at a disadvantage, which is why we are investing in the skills of the future.
That’s why we will invest in training and we will work with employers and employers in the private sector to ensure that we create the best workforce in the world,” he added.
Paterson said that, as part of his role as minister for human resources and skills, he will also look at “creating a new role for HR experts”.
