How to make your HR department ‘more transparent’

The Washington Department of Human Resources is facing criticism for not having the proper information and technology in place to make HR employees more transparent.

According to a report by the Center for Responsive Politics, the department did not have a “digital policy” that outlined how employees are required to use the public cloud, such as Google Drive and Dropbox.

In the report, the CRS pointed to a “sluggish rollout” of information technology, saying that some HR departments had to “maintain an artificially high level of compliance” in order to make sure their IT systems were “in sync with federal government requirements.”

According a recent blog post from the Department of Justice, the Department’s Office of Civil Rights is looking into whether the department’s HR systems are in the “best interest of civil rights and due process.”
