A new era of corporate culture is coming to the retail industry.
In a recent article, Business Insider reported that Walgros has been working to transform its human resources department by bringing back the Human Resources Management program to its stores.
This new approach was inspired by the fact that in 2014, Walgreen was the first U.S. retailer to open a human resources consulting agency, but that was just the beginning.
Walgreens recently opened its first human resources advisory service at its flagship store in the United Kingdom, and the company is now planning to expand to other markets.
The company recently launched an online job board, where customers can submit their resumes to be considered for a position.
As of this writing, Walmart has hired 8,600 employees in the Human Resource department and expects to hire more than 1 million people over the next year.
What’s more, the company has been expanding its human resource network, offering a more extensive range of career services than ever before.
More than 60% of the company’s current workforce works remotely, and in a 2016 report, the HR department said it was “one of the fastest-growing, most innovative and diverse sectors of the global company.”
But Walgrees strategy is not only about expanding the reach of its human assets.
For example, WalMart recently announced it is opening a new location in China, which is expected to have a significant impact on the retail market there.
If Walgos moves into China, it will be the largest U.K. retail chain to do so.
Its acquisition of U.P.W., a group of clothing retailers in China and South Korea, has created an opportunity for Walgards business in the country.
While the deal is expected in the next two to three years, the acquisition has not been finalized.
Even though it has a foothold in the Chinese market, Wal-Mart will likely retain the services of its China operations.
And while Walgops new strategy may not have any immediate impact in China or the United States, it may be a game changer for the entire global retail industry in the coming years.
